FAQ's & Resoling
Caring
for Your Cruiserboots®
With proper care, your Cruiserboots® should give you
years of waterproof riding. DO NOT rewaterproof your boots.
Do not use sno-seal, silicone or petroleum-based oils or polish
because they will interfere with the breathability of the
leather and may in fact diminish the waterproof properties.
Your boots are permanently waterproofed. Further waterproof
treatment is NOT needed.
After extensive research and product testing, we introduced
Cruiserworks® Leather Cream.
This product works in perfect harmony with the special waterproof
leather used in Cruiserboots®. It will repair scuff marks,
give a spit shine (if desired), moisten the leather and keep
your boots looking great. For proper care, Cruiserboots®
should be wiped down with a damp cloth on a regular basis
and then, occasionally (once per quarter), Cruiserworks®
Leather Cream should be applied sparingly.
Cruiserworks® uses a process that seals the upper leather
of the boot to the sole and heel. This bond can be damaged
by kicking one boot off with the other boot. Remove your boots
by cupping the leather heel area with your hand and pushing.
Don't "step" on one boot to remove the other.
If you see a small gap between the leather upper and sole,
do not be alarmed. We try NOT to get the bonding materials
up on the "sidewall" of the sole so that the leather
does not pucker when you walk in the boots. The permanent
bond is not on the sidewall; it is down under your foot.

Important
Fit/Ordering Information:
We have gone to great measures to ensure that your Cruiserboots®
will be comfortable. Most people find they get the best fit
in Cruiserboots® if they order on the larger side. Since
footwear size varies from brand to brand, it is recommended
that you order 1/2 size larger than the LARGEST
SIZE you are currently wearing in any
boot. Our experience shows that 99% of exchanges are for a
half size longer. Remember it is easier to take up space than
it is to add it in the Cruiserboots®. If you are still
not sure of your size, please call and let us help you get
the right fit the first time.
Cruiserboots® are made of premium full grain leather
that will quickly conform to your foot. Snugness will give
way to comfort as you wear them, EXCEPT in the toe area.
Heel slippage is normal! In fact, if you don’t have
heel slippage in your new boots, they will break in and be
too short.
Think your Cruiserboots®
may too long?
From a sitting position, pick up one foot without bending
or wiggling your ankle (most important part of the test).
If the boot sags off your heel, it’s too long. Exchange
for a half size smaller or try again with a thicker sock that
you intend to ride in.
Think your Cruiserboots®
may be too short or narrow?
As you walk in your Cruiserboots®, your toes should not
be touching the end of the boot or the sides of the toe box.
(This gets worse over time, not better!). Our styrene toe
guard is tough yet lightweight and will not conduct the cold;
however, it also will not “give”. If your toes
touch the end of the boot when walking, and you’ve never
worn a wider width, exchange for a half size larger.
Have a high instep?
If so, Cruiserboots® may be difficult to pull on. Begin
with a thin, dry sock. Try the boots on from a sitting position
using the plastic boot horn provided in the boot box. If the
boots will not go on, or go on and are uncomfortable, exchange
for the next greater width in the same size boot or the next
larger size. (Keep in mind that the Men’s Side Zip,
Men’s Short Zip and Lady Zip styles are best suited
for high insteps.)
